This breakfast could not be easier.
Butter two sides of a piece of bread and use a cookie cutter to cut out a whole in the middle. Set the cut out piece of bread aside.
Place the bread with the whole in the middle on a hot pan and crack an egg in the whole. Cook until the egg sets on the first side and the toast is brown. Flip the bread over to cook the other side. Cook the egg to desired firmness and remove from the heat.
Take the circle you cut out of the bread and cook it until its crisp on both sides.
Call it what you want, either it’s delicious.
